You & Your Baby

Prepare for welcoming your baby Earthside, by understanding their journey from womb to world and how that impacts the early weeks and months of life.

I am here to help and support you on your journey into parenthood. Better understanding your baby’s needs will give you the confidence to welcome your little one into the world with compassion and understanding. When we follow this with the use of therapeutic touch and movement suitable for young babies, we can then further deepen our tools for helping your baby arrive in the world, while also calming your own nervous system, which may be under stress after birth and from adapting to life with baby.

Once baby is here you can discover the art of baby massage & movement to support your baby developmentally. Also check out my Mentoring for Mothers which I offer to support you on your journey. Woven into these sessions is my experience of working with new mothers and parents for over two decades.

The first workshops can happen pre or post birth, The second in the fourth trimester (0-3 months approx) These 1:1 sessions are available and tailored to you and your family's concerns. Your partner, family member, maternity nurse etc welcome to join us.

I can offer these sessions in your own home, either with a home visit if you are in the North London or central London area, or attend from the comfort of your own home, via zoom, live online. This can make it easier to fit into your schedule or make it possible if you are not London-based.

Arrange your free call now to discuss further or to book your session.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Lynn

Step one: Let’s talk about baby & you

You can attend this workshop during pregnancy in preparation for meeting your baby or with your babe-in-arms. There is space for you to explore how babies are in the early days and weeks when you wish to stay close to home. We will look at a baby’s journey into the world and develop skills around the use of therapeutic touch to help your baby feel more at ease, giving you more confidence in your parenting. This session will be tailored to you and any particular concerns you may have, such as what baby products you actually need, baby wearing, how babies sleep, or early breastfeeding.

We will also make space to better understand the transitional journey women make into motherhood, also known as matrescence, and how to nurture the new mother, as well as honoring all parents and families, whatever their shape. You will receive recordings and other support material after class to back up what we cover during this workshop.

Cost: £155 for 2 hour session in person, £111 online, also incudes:

  • Recording & or video’s and PDF’s to support what’s covered.

  • Invitation to The Motherhood monthly meet-ups

  • Discount when booking New Baby & Me Nuture

  • Cost for both sessions: £277 in person or £199 online

Step two: Developmental baby massage

Here, you will discover a number of simple tools that can help soothe and calm your baby, leaving you feeling more confident and relaxed in your parenting. These techniques are designed to relax your baby in various ways, whether it's easing the discomfort of wind or addressing challenges post a birth that may have left the nervous system wired. By calming the baby's system, we also encourage deeper and more restorative sleep. Depending on your baby's age, we can include an introduction to massage, develop a simple massage routine for regular use, explore how to relieve discomfort in the belly area and prepare for tummy time, or provide advice on slings and sleep.

After the workshop, you will receive recordings and other supporting materials to reinforce what we cover. Your workshop will be tailored to you and your baby's needs. I will assess this by talking with you on the phone before we plan our first session, either in your own home or online if that is more convenient. I can provide home visits in and around the North & Central London area.

Testimonials

For anyone thinking about attending this – go for it! I can’t recommend it enough. Lovely class led with Lynn’s usual thoughtful sensitive style. My partner said this was the best class we did before Roh was born (and I dragged him to lots of different things). We’re 8 weeks into parenthood and I’ve called on what we learnt in this workshop a lot so far, helped by great material Lynn sent by email afterwards.

We live in this crazy age when so many so-called ‘parenting’ books and courses seem specifically designed to undermine parents’ own instincts, disempowering us all in the process. Lynn did precisely the opposite: in a supportive, enlightening, reassuring and highly enjoyable afternoon she offered expert advice that we discovered chimed with our own parenting instincts, at the same time as providing invaluably practical tips on feeding, sleeping and baby-wearing. We left feeling confident and excited rather than clueless and terrified.
