A Day for Women with Lynn Murphy
A one-day immersive workshop exploring the pelvic bowl, pelvic floor, and the whole core through a holistic, embodied approach.
This day weaves together movement, rest, education, and guided exploration—integrating the physical, emotional, and relational aspects of women’s health.
Sophie Girard-Sequeira (Well-Woman Yoga Therapist) will be part of the day, and in the afternoon, Sébastien De Sa Neves Da Rocha (osteopath) will join, each bringing their experience and perspective to this exploration of pelvic wisdom.
This day is for:
Women interested in their pelvic health and wellbeing
Yoga teachers wishing to better support the women in their classes
Therapists working in women’s health wanting to deepen their understanding
Whether you come for personal exploration or professional development, the intention is the same: to cultivate awareness, confidence, and a more connected relationship with the female body.
This day offers a structured yet exploratory approach to reconnecting with your body, with a particular focus on the pelvic floor and the wider core within and around the pelvic bowl.
You will be guided through movement, rest, and reflection, with the aim of developing a clearer awareness of how your body feels and functions. There will be space to notice patterns, deepen insight, and explore movement that supports more integrated and responsive connections within the body.
For many women, there can be a sense of disconnection from the pelvic floor, or uncertainty about how to engage these muscles. You may be familiar with approaches that emphasise strengthening, or with concepts such as the bandhas(“locks”) in yoga. While these can be helpful, they do not always offer a complete or accessible way of relating to this area of the body.
This day offers an alternative approach—one that considers the pelvic floor in relationship to the whole system, including breath, posture, and the nervous system. The intention is not simply to strengthen, but to support a balance of tone, responsiveness, and ease.
Drawing on over three decades of experience working with women’s bodies, I focus on supporting the development of functional strength while maintaining flexibility and adaptability in the tissues—particularly in contexts such as pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and long-term wellbeing.
There is also an acknowledgement that emotional experience and social conditioning can influence how we relate to this part of the body. By bringing awareness in a clear, supportive, and non-judgemental way, we can begin to develop a more informed and connected relationship with ourselves.
— Lynn
how do we know each other?
Lynn and Sophie first met at the Active Birth Centre in London while Sophie was training as an Active Birth Pregnancy Yoga teacher. She later completed a postpartum training with Lynn before returning to Brussels. Over the years, they stayed in touch, and before COVID, Lynn brought several of her trainings to Brussels. Today, they are delighted to offer this event that reflects how their work supporting women has evolved.
Sébastien de Sa Neves da Rocha, an experienced osteopath specialising in paediatrics and obstetrics, also has a long-standing connection with Lynn. They collaborated for many years at the Active Birth Centre Therapy Clinic in London, which she ran alongside birth pioneer Janet Baslaskas. Following COVID, Sébastien moved to Brussels, and Lynn introduced him to Sophie, bringing their paths together. They are delighted to all come together and be part of this special May event.
