WOMB TO WORLD

Baby Massage training

I am delighted to relaunch my trainings with this in-person Womb to World - baby massage, 3 day module. this is in response to what some have been asking for, for some time. Here, we will begin by focusing on baby, the second module focusing in on mothers -Mother Nurture will follow in 2025.

Come and deepen your skills and learn new ones as you support newborn families and their babies. We will work together to enrich what you can offer to those you support.

Womb to World Training Days will provide valuable new skills and insights to anyone wanting to, or already working in the field of supporting women in their journey through pregnancy and birth into motherhood. Here, we learn and explore baby massage and the power of touch, which is as important to parents as it is to babies. We will explore how to facilitate safe and nurturing spaces that honour and hold both mother and baby.

Baby massage is a way to extend and develop your work in helping new families build strong bonds with their baby right from the start. Information is important for parents, helping them to make good parenting choices from an empowered place.

I’m delighted to share with you my passion and knowledge from over 30 years of experience as a mother and within the birthworld. Book now for November’s first in-person training in a while! Or send in application form first

I look forward to hearing from you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will develop a range of abilities to support the new mother and baby bonding process. These practical and deceptively simple techniques, building up to baby massage sessions, are designed to support and nurture more relaxed parenting, which in turn helps both mothers and babies to thrive.

We will work practically through the body, as well as through the more usual listening and observation aspects of training. The training will be held in a home environment that allows for more intimacy within the limited group size of eight. This allows each person present to feel seen and heard and to have space to practice the techniques.

I am delighted that my dear friend and colleague Yolande Diver will be present to further support you during our time togethe

“Being touched and caressed, being massaged, is food for the infant. Food as necessary as minerals, vitamins and proteins.”

— FREDERICK LEBOYER

what will the baby massage training include?

Throughout the sessions we will have space to talk, and to practice how best to interweave elements of touch into your work, that best support the wellbeing of the mum’s and babies you meet face to face and/or online. Starting small we will build into a nourishing, playful and confident massage routine for baby.  One that can be used daily, but also looking at how smaller elements of touch can be interweaved into daily life with a baby.

Core elements we will focus on;

  • Newborn’s transition from womb to world.

  • The power of touch.

  • A look at the history and benefits of infant massage.

  • Tools to calm the nervous systems of both baby & mum.

  • Introducing baby to massage.

  • Creating a nourishing, playful and confident massage routine.

  • Some of the practical aspects and safety issues to understand.

  • Simple techniques to empower you and the families you meet.

  • How do we incorporate restless or unhappy babies into our classes.

  • How to deal with issues that can arise in circles.

  • An embodied approach to learning, time to practice together.

  • Back up training videos available for 6 months after training

  • Support material

You will be encouraged to use journaling as a tool from signing up through to the final day of training, to observe your insights and realisations along the way. You will also recieve training videos and written material to support what you learn over the 3 days. A certificate of attendance is given for CPD and a Womb to World logo to share on your information.

Coming together as a group, with often varied backgrounds & experiences, enriches the learning experience and you will be invited to join the Mother Nurture Community on completion of the course, a place for support & continued guidance from myself, through monthly supervisions and seasonal gatherings. I am aiming for this to start in 2025.

TRAINING TESTIMONIALS

“Thank you Lynn for a deeply nourishing and inspiring few days spent garnering your immense wisdom and knowledge on the mother nurture training. It was a deep and humbling journey into the perspective of a new parent, but also the baby as they transition from womb to world. This course serves for a deeper understanding into how to hold space with empathy and compassion whilst offering practical ways to assist new parents find their way, gain confidence and honour their role as a parent. I would highly recommend this training if you already teach postnatal yoga as a way of enhancing your postnatal offerings beyond the asana practice.

— YOLANDE DIVER, YOGA TEACHER & DOULA

“Lynn’s course has been a wonderful chance to deepen my understanding and reflect on my work supporting new families and their babies. Over the three days we were encouraged to really explore how we can support in a holistic sense – physically, emotionally and through the information we share. It really allowed me to connect up lots of different areas I had previously had an interest in: touch, breath work, body work and always listening, there were lots of aha moments and it has really enriched my practice as a postnatal doula, a sling consultant and as someone running a postnatal group. Lynn’s wisdom and compassion is so inspiring and the course is delivered in such an open hearted and generous atmosphere. I have really loved learning with her and would highly recommend the course to anyone who is or is thinking of working with new families. Thank you Lynn.”

— KATHERINE, POSTNATAL DOULA

“Hi Lynn, thank you for two enriching days, I so appreciated your way of teaching and how you see and share things. I love working with women in general and I’m more and more convinced about the benefit of supporting women in the postpartum. I felt pretty blessed for being there and have now the opportunity to share something so precious with other women. Thank you”
